Debbie Durkin Green Grammy’s MUSIC SAVES LIVES ® - LA was buzzing with Grammy activities over the weekend and I’m still recovering a bit. I got to spend a very toasty Friday afternoon on The London’s rooftop listening to new artists. Overall, there was a nice, youthful vibe I wanted to share.
She was working with Dirtee Hollywood (one of the sponsors) and I thought she pulled off the vintage look. (Does this shot make anyone thirsty)? Of course I had to get a shot of her nails.
Loved her cute brocade dress and think she nailed it with the pop of pink. Everyone was scooping up these music Music Saves Lives bands.
[Blooper] Boo Boo Stewart and his sister Fivel were drawing a crowd. Uh, you might know him as Seth Clearwater in that little Twilight movie franchise, his role starting with Eclipse. (If you’re confused about their names, Boo Boo was born Nils Allen, but uses the nickname he never outgrew; Trent Heaven’s her given name and she prefers Fivel). I was smitten with them when I shot a Teen Vogue event last October – and took a few seconds to find out about their debut album coming out this spring.
Marissa Reeves is a new pop artist signed to Warner Bros who played a showcase after I left. What you don’t see is the insane amount of swag bags, lined up out of frame. My favorite table was stacked with Doorin Bros hats. I took a look at the logo and realized one of the Sundance rocker guys I shot here was wearing one. Below, something fascinated me about a pageant sash on a casual teen.
I’m burying the lead! I was about to leave when a curious artist arrived, so I stuck around to hear him play – and was mesmerized by not only his voice, but his message. I took a second to tweet about it, then met up with him and his crew in the studio Sunday and can’t wait for you to meet the guy who says that music gives him wings. Stay tuned… [Special Thanks to Debbie, Kimberly, Erica & Devin]
