Unique LA: I Came, I Shopped, I Dropped.

Gina and John share the LOCAL LOVE.

Wow, my Unique LA Pop Up Shop was a fun adventure, but turned out to be a bit challenging after I was booked to shoot a pilot the same week as the event. I’m still recovering and looking forward to my first weekend off in a while! I met a lot of creative people and have a few I’d like to share with you, especially one I hope you’ll meet later. Wink. [More pix after the jump.]

I can’t thank my fun designers enough: Suzy LeQ from Rossmore, Kathryn Bentley of Dream Collective, Lana My, Thursday Friday and Mei Vintage. Paul, a heartfelt thank you for getting the show up and running with me and to Karina for bringing your stylish aesthetic.

Style blogger Regine Nehy of Inspire Me, Inspire U gets her gratis wish bracelet from Rossmore’s Suzy LeQ. (Shhhh, she’s making 3 wishes).

Karina’s bow, linen blouse, plaid shorts and oxfords with ankle socks were inspired. Here, she helps load up on wish bracelets since they were going so fast! Karina had some good stories that gave me wanderlust.

The women of Trendera – Jessica, Abby and Jessie – livened up my booth the second day and you can even follow their trendspotting adventures. Pssst, I traced Jessica’s cute fiber necklace to the vendor below.

Sol del Sur makes these braided necklaces from fabrics her Berlin-based sister buys from the Turkish market. I picked up the one in the middle (which I’m wearing as I write this). I’m actually surprised it goes with more than I thought.

Jacqueline is mad for plaid – and I thought these recycled flannels were smart.

Made by Stella Neptune

I spotted her great Tanya Aguiñiga knotted rope necklace and it turns out she’s Tanya’s intern. Adorable, right?

A few vendors had great takes on recycling books. This one was offering the above book buttons and magic wallets. The wallets were too cute, but I still don’t get how they worked. Because they’re magic. (I’ll add his company link shortly).

bauWerkgreen – If you’re in the market for custom green furniture, So Cal based Stephan Roggenbuck has worked on high profile projects around the world.

She was in the Neoclassics booth across from mine (and I promise she was wearing a shirt). I thought her bow tie was a fun new take on feathers.

For those who’ve asked about mail order, I have just a few of these totes left. Thanks again to friends who helped – and those who showed up to support or keep us company. Thanks also to Unique LA’s Sonja Rasula & Aisha Shaya for even letting me join the event. I’ll be hosting various (public and private) Pop Up Shops and style events September through December and hope to see you there, so look for the mailing list when it’s up. Facebook | Twitter.

Thank you for such a full roundup review of the event, Jerri! It was wonderful to see you again at this event & I’m already a fan of your booth-curating skills :) Will definitely be on the lookout for more of your street style spottings!

Hey Gina! I’m glad I got another shot at snapping you. Thanks for the props and I’m sure I’ll run into you at more fashion events! You’re on the VIP list for secret sales. :D
