Nasty Gal – I was invited to a very fun Fashion Night Out event at the Soho House this past Tuesday night (thanks, LG!) – and got to peek some really interesting designer’s collections and meet some local bloggers and personalities. There are a few people I’d like to introduce here, starting with Sophia. Hot in so many ways. Obviously incredible style, but it was the mix of fitted vintage juxtaposed with Olivier Theyskens for Theory shoes that got my attention. (Ok, that and her tattoo placement, mmmkayyyy).
Turns out Sophia spun vintage into gold, in a sense. She parlayed her vintage fetish into an online store that really took off. She then launched NASTY GAL a few years ago, selling new, vintage and also private label merch. Her store is a well known staple amongst the bloggerati and young style set (and their Jeffrey Campbell shoe selection is fierce). She recently relocated her company from SF to LA. You can catch her at home in Silverlake here and see her top 5 vintage sources here. Her section was so mobbed at the event, it was hard to squeeze in until the end of the night.
Remember blogger/photog Jessie Webster on the right?? I snapped her streetstyle in Venice and she’s with cute blogger Afton Con Ganas, whose beau I shot for RackedLA here.
These gals dug around for some T-shirts while Nasty Gal’s videos splashed across the TV.
Racks of great NASTY GAL vintage up for grabs. It was a bit nuts.
I could finally make my way to the merch at the end of the night! Here, Erin gets some feedback from actor Eric Balfour. (Wait, is he wearing Falling Whistles)? A fun night with a lot of Nasty Gals. More about this party, emerging designers and LA style stars coming over the next week. Happy FNO!
