Geometric – As a streetstyle photographer documenting New York Fashion Week, I’ll admit I experienced a bit of an adrenaline rush each time the big shows let out. When the crowd starts spilling out into the street, we’re faced with the challenge of which shots to chase.

After Marc by Marc Jacobs, I stuck with Elle Magazine’s Style Director Kate Lanphear, she of the iconic haircut. (Does her geometric turtleneck remind anyone else of lightning bolts?) In last week’s Daily Front Row, Kate touched on editors covering looks that are usually the opposite of what retailers end up buying, but knowing when a look is important. She said, “My job is to make people dream, and to get them excited about dressing in a new way.” For me, this couldn’t be further from the truth. I have to admit that I was never as excited about fashion while living in LA as I am in New York.

Stay tuned for Model Monday, up next, plus great news and some really fun StyleSpotting and features from the Brooklyn Flea Market, posting throughout the week.

P.S. David_Boots, I see you, too.
