Riveting Rosie – Without realizing it, I spotted actress Rose Byrne (she introduced herself as Rosie) in the East Village wearing a little white vintage dress she picked up at LA’s Melrose Trading Post. Continuing on the little white dress theme, I spotted what I thought was an inspired girl rounding a corner in a cute, but unassuming vintage version. I smiled to myself that even though this stylish stranger was beating the sun under an umbrella, her beauty was so obvious even from across the street. The Australian actress is also wearing Vanessa Bruno Athé Sandals, a Topshop tote and ‘cheap sunglasses.’

Her Hit List - Rosie told me, “I like to shop for cute vintage things.” Besides the Melrose Trading Post, a couple of her favorite places to shop are Beacon’s Closet and Flying A on Spring Street.

As I walked away, I asked if I could include what field she works in and she smiled graciously and said, “Advertising.” It wasn’t until I looked at her email before typing this that I put the pieces together.

Did you bond over one of your familiar LA haunts?!
I’d like to think I would have recognized her . . . we’ve been watching old episodes of Damages on Netflix
Hi, Janet! If it wasn’t so blazing hot, I might’ve stuck around to ask more questions – and think *you* would’ve definitely recognized her. She was a doll…
Oh my god! I am so obsessed with her. I literally watched a thousand hours (ok, not literally) of Damages last week, and I want more more more.
She’s so great – and I think it’s fantastic how you recognized her style first, her celebrity second. So funny.

Hi Gabrielle! Did you love shooting Fashion Week?! You’ll be happy to hear how sweet she is in person — and if her email hadn’t hinted her last name – I would still have no idea it was her (and never realized she was an Aussie with the lovely accent.)
Have an inspired weekend,
Jerri
