Coming Around Again – Guess what’s coming up? New York Fashion Week kicks off next week. As an homage, I thought I’d run some favorite shots from my archives over the next few days. Above, I spotted Ashley Abtahie and Ana Chrysanthopoulos heading into Lincoln Center. While the parade tends to be label driven, they had a look that just exuded a smoky glamour. I’ve since run into stylist Ashley (left) a couple times in Nolita and discovered we share a mutual friend in this photographer. I was curious how to describe her style to you and thought I’d actually ask her. She shares her take below.
I’m not sure how to properly word this, but my personal style is mostly inspired by the films The Heathers, The Craft, Clueless and the character Audrey Horn from the David Lynch show Twin Peaks. I also bounce back and forth between 60′s, 70′s and 90′s elements. I guess all of these have a bit of quirkiness and prep. I am always drawn to wearing bright colors in fall/winter and darker tones in spring/summer. ~ Ashley
I hope to catch them both again in the next couple weeks and am so ready for fall fashion.
