Big in Japan: Flirty Harajuku Skirts

You can’t walk a block in Harajuku or Shinjuku’s Kabukichō area (where we stayed) without catching a huge variety of these schoolgirl skirts paired with thigh highs. Hair extensions like these are common, so the girls walk around looking like dolls. Her skin was amazing and I don’t think I saw a person over size 8 or 10 there. Ever.

Even the skyline is flirty and cute. It’s too much…

I’d have to say the American version of the skinny mini right now is pleated leather, like this one by Alice + Olivia and a kickier version by Thakoon or whimsical fabrics by Pencey and Parker. Unrelated, but when I was poking around, I found this sweater dress by Thakoon for nearly $1,000 and am dying to DIY it with thrift. Game on.
