Over the Rainbow – I spotted Angela Pham’s dress outside Milk Studios and went a bit bananas. You can get a closer look at the saturated striped dress in the VIDEO below. I’ve spotted Bravo’s Gallery Girl around Williamsburg a few times and her outfits never disappoint. I just had to know where she found this get up and she shared, “I bought the dress on eBay and get most of my finds on eBay. Lots of obsessive hours spent trawling eBay.” I also asked if she had any favorite vintage stores. She said she’s only been there once, but that Douglas Gardens in Miami was a recent find.

Chain Reaction – Are you curious to see what it’s like to shoot at Fashion Week? Take a look at the VIDEO below, which I warn you is misleading. It’s never as easy as photographer (and ‘it’ girl) Candice Lake makes it look while she’s shooting her fellow Londoner Peony Lim (above). We can never usually get to shoot people in such a calm environment (and you’ll see what I mean when you meet JonCarlo)! Catch the short video below, then scroll down to see their outfit details and how Peony’s dress is one-of-a-kind. Hope you like…
VIDEO: Candice Lake shooting Peony Lim outside Derek Lam’s Fashion Show

Peony mentioned shooting with her friend Candice is a pleasure and I found she literally put the dress together herself. She tells me, “In the video I’m wearing two scarves tied together to make a dress, the shoes are Bionda Castana, the bag is Fendi, the belt is vintage and the sunglasses were from my store although I think they are sold out now.” [Note Peony's cute smock tops.] I also shot Peony here during my first fashion week and I’ll have to cheat and backpost for some other fun shots I snapped last February.
Here’s some great news: Candice is getting married this week! In the video, she’s wearing a supercool Chloe dropcrotch jumpsuit, Maison Michel hat and Converse sneakers. More videos to come…

Past and Present – I’ll be posting videos from around NYC and especially Fashion Week and thought I’d include a past video of Italian blogger / designer Chiara Ferragni (The Blonde Salad). She’s always fun to photograph and it was crazy windy, so the audio interview wasn’t usable, but here’s a good look at her outfit below – and her amazing Hermès orange enamel bangle.
Chiara was a blogging law student with a serious shopping habit when her following took off (266,000 followers on facebook alone). She’s now also designing, working with brands like Burberry, traveling the globe for events and just curated these bright outfits for WhoWhatWear. More importantly, she’s recently engaged. (I just have to mention they’re so cute together walking around Fashion Week).

Blonde + Baby Blue – I spotted Ulyana Bezeruk in simple pieces she punched up with smart accessories. She’s an Australian stylist, designer and blogger I met at Lincoln Center and thought she looked so cool in the baby blues. I shot a VIDEO so you could meet her and get a closer look at her clutch, a wrist tattoo that says structured chaos and a chunky unicorn ring she designed herself. Meet Ulyana below – and catch more videos here this week:
Ulyana’s also wearing a shirt by Phillip Lim and Topshop shoes.

Issey Miyake’s Bao Bao Bilbao Prism Bag – If you don’t know about my obsession with this bag, I first went bananas for it when I spotted it in SoHo here and the shot was ultimately published in VOGUE Turkey.
I wanted to share it on VIDEO, spotted outside Derek Lam at New York Fashion Week while I was shooting some entrances. As a special treat, the women talking next to me are kind of hysterical (to me, anyway). I was going to cover their chatter with music, but wanted you to get a better sense of the convos that happen on sidewalks before fashion shows.
Posting later today… a FASHION VIP that is my favorite of all favorites. Hint.

Talk to Me - I spotted Natalie Joos, Miroslava Duma and Anya Ziourova exiting Derek Lam’s Fashion Show – and caught them on VIDEO this time. Today, I’m featuring Anya, Fashion Director of TATLER Russia in the VIDEO BELOW. Whether she’s dressed up or down, she’s always so incredibly graceful. I’m Producing Betsey Johnson’s upcoming TV series for Style Network and could only shoot a couple days over New York Fashion Week and wanted to shoot more personal videos this time (since last winter wasn’t exactly video friendly weather). Hope you like Anya’s video and you can catch more of her posts below.

I’ll also be posting VIDEOS of Natalie’s & Miroslava’s outfits, too… Keep an eye out.

Bill Cunningham, The New York Times famed streetstyle photographer and style anthropologist, is elusive. Outside of his documentary, I don’t know him, but I do know – he is not comfortable with his celebrity. He simply wants to shoot the style savvy and if someone engages him during Fashion Week, they are preventing him from doing his job. I witnessed a woman trying to strike a conversation and with his eyes locked on the crowd, he simply said, “I’m thinking.” He snapped a photo of a friend of mine outside of Fashion Week and tried to pass himself off as a tourist. The friend, well aware of Bill’s weekly Sunday Styles feature “On the Street,” handed him a card to ask when his photo might run. Bill looked at the card, thanked him and handed it back. Catch my SHORT VIDEO of Bill on the prowl below.
Please come around for MORE VIDEOS of Fashion Week’s curiosities over the next couple weeks. I’ll get back to showing you videos of the printed patterns I mentioned at Milk Studios, but want to circulate different shows for a bit. Next up is a fashion fave – Anya Ziourova! See, it’s true. Bill avoids the camera, but who can blame him. So much style to shoot, so little time. Each one of us shooters has our own techniques and it’s fun when I get a glimpse of him doing his thing. The other photos were taken outside Derek Lam’s Fashion Show.
