Rain Rain Go Away – I spotted Russia’s Miroslava Duma caught in the rain after Calvin Klein’s show on the final day of New York Fashion Week. I’ve also captured her cute Tommy Hilfiger stripes here after Marc Jacobs and you can see this full look after the jump.

She happens to be wearing my favorite color combo, saturated blue with green, that I’ll be sharing more of from the streets that week. Miroslava (Mira) is the former editor of Vogue Russia who launched the pretty addicting fashion website Buro 24/7. Even though it’s in Russian, it’s a fun global take on style. Back to the rain, I kept worrying about her suede clutch getting wet as she stood waiting for her driver. (It’s a girl thing).

White Hot Spotlight – I’ll be sharing some colorful combos I spotted after Calvin Klein’s show with Miroslava Duma and a Celine Dream, but white seemed to be trending as I caught the style set spilling out into the streets at the tail end of New York Fashion Week.

The A Team – Perhaps yesterday’s post is an indication that I’m still into varsity jackets. I spotted hers after Calvin Klein’s show at New York Fashion Week and loved the bold jacket and $$$ boots, paired with nonchalant cargo pants.

Closet Case – I ran into blogger Leandra Medine a few times over the course of New York Fashion Week. She’s The Man Repeller and I found her to be, well, not so repelling. I spotted her above, after Ralph Lauren, and below, after Prabal Gurung. Always in killer shoes and enviable coats, but for some reason, I was really into her hats, specifically the way she owned the knit capper below.

I also liked her boyish vibe as she exited Prabal Gurung. You can check out The Man Repeller for all her outfit details. (This girl has some serious press, no?) (Literally, she trademarked the term “arm party” coined for the stellar stack of bracelets she’s known for wearing). 

I’ll start featuring bonus shots on StyleSpotting’s facebook this week, so you can catch photos of Leandra at Erickson Beamon’s Fashion Show soon. I cannot imagine how stuffed her closet must be, but I’m sure she must suffer days like all of us, with ‘nothing to wear.’

Let the Games Begin – If Brick Breaker involved fashion, maybe then I’d play. Fellow shooters had a strong reaction to wanting to shoot this model’s man after Ralph Lauren’s show the final day of New York Fashion Week. He was trying to get out of the shot and she had just whispered to him, “They want you in the shot, too.” I was curious, but couldn’t take my eyes off her and probably the only puffy jacket I would ever wear. White pants with grommets? You don’t see that every day, or any day, really.

Mia offered, “I was wearing a Prabal Gurung blouse & sweater, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti skirt, Isabel Marant jacket and boots with Fenton bracelets. The sunglasses are Super.” Her Fashion Week tip was grounded advice with, “Wear a piece or two you know you love, even if it’s something you’ve had for ages. It’s always nice to mix your own personal touches in.”

I Survived - I just wanted to catch my breath for a minute and share a few things. Granted, I shot for a few hours last September while I was visiting a friend, but this was my first full experience shooting New York Fashion Week. I’m still high and pretty wrung out. I also got some nice, unexpected ink from Racked New York, who featured some of my earlier images in a fancy slide show. (Thanks, Izzy!)

As my content will be changing a bit, here are a few disclaimers, especially for any newcomers (hello!):

• I might’ve geeked out a bit seeing some of my favorite stylish editors, bloggers and photographers - but hey, you have to allow some fanfare photos before I get too jaded (which is bound to happen).
• I really did shoot civilians as well, but am only including a few favorites, like this young girl in whimsical vintage, above.
• I will be running Fashion Week photos for a while, but will start folding in the stylish denizens I’ve been spotting around NYC. I seriously think I have enough material for 30-50 Fashion Week posts, but whittling some down to fun themes.

Finally, I’ve had so much fun here that I’m not in such a hurry to get back to Los Angeles, but do miss it and look forward to working on both coasts. I’m picking up new photo editing software, so a flurry of images is around the bend… @

Rain Men – I caught these gents braving the elements before and after Calvin Klein’s show at New York Fashion Week at 7th Avenue and 39th Street. There were big plans to “occupy” but only about 7 people showed up to protest.

I ran into Betsy wearing Nettie Kent’s earrings and slice of sand ring on my way to Lincoln Center during Fashion Week. She was with the designer who was excited to have shown her line for the first time that morning. Her shades are vintage, natch.

I spotted her after Derek Lam’s show and just loved her mix of masculine/feminine and business/casual.

Taxi! - I spotted style photographer Garance Doré after Ralph Lauren’s fashion show, hailing a taxi for Pardon my French, her Fashion Week webseries with Net-a-Porter. Episode 1 had just premiered the day before and a journalist standing next to us mentioned it had already hit 10,000 views that morning. It’s a comedic docu-reality on her creative endeavors and slices of life, from being ribbed by her beau about grooming, to hints of a collaboration with Kate Spade and intoxicating fashion show footage. Toe to Toe – I spotted prominent street/style photographers Garance Doré and Scott Schuman right after Ralph Lauren’s fashion show yesterday and couldn’t resist taking a few snaps of these lovebirds. I remembered her story of these amazing boots here.

I’ve been a fan of her photos, and especially her irreverent storytelling, for a while now and of his graceful images for years. I said hello to Garance and asked about her fashion week webseries that just premiered, while her crew was plotting their next shot. She has a great twinkle behind her eyes. I’ve crossed paths with Scott after a few shows, but haven’t wanted to break his concentration as he scans the crowd for his next shot. Someday. Until then, I’ve chosen not to publish the images, but I can offer you a behind-the-scenes shot of Garance shooting for her webseries, up next!

Mystery Bag – During the Ralph Lauren show today, I took some snaps of this stylish girl and realized I shot her in Soho not long after I landed in NYC. It’s Jenny Olson carrying the messenger bag that popular streetstyle photog Tommy Ton designed for Club Monaco! This not-yet-released bag lands in CM stores March 20th, along with a backpack I also spotted today, which WWD claims will retail for $198 & $225.

Congrats, Tommy and thanks for the snaps, Jenny! Take a closer look at the bag after the jump. I’ve got to say that shooting New York Fashion Week around Tommy and other shooters I’ve admired has been a bit surreal. I can’t wait to see all their pics.

BEFORE – I love that fashion writer Miroslava Duma dressed down in denim and this colorful, chunky cable knit for Marc Jacob’s show. She’s been a favorite streetstyle muse, partially because she always crushes it and partially because she’s also a petite brunette, yet never short on style. (Is it my imagination, or did she blow up even more after the haircut?) I also spotted her in this NYFW look after Derek Lam last week.

AFTER – Miroslava makes her getaway with Russian Tatler Fashion Director, Anya Ziourova, who you’ll meet in another post. So much colorful stuff on the way…

BEFORE - I spotted Vogue Nippon’s Anna Dello Russo running late and literally racing into Mark Jacobs show yesterday. Let me tell you, a woman running in hot pink and thigh high boots (gracefully, I might add) is just not something you see every day, even in New York.

AFTER - Fortunately, she made it and was all smiles after the show. I have much more coming from Marc Jacobs. Before the show, I shot the hot and very young male models taking their last smoke break – and I might’ve sneaked up the stairs for a shot, too. I spotted The Kate, a Russian editor, my new favorite stylist and a gorgeous blogger decked in Isabel Marant to name a few. Much more to come…

Srsly – You met Jennifer in this post, looking for her driver after Prabal Gurung’s show at the beginning of New York Fashion Week. Well, I spotted her the very next day hunting her driver down outside Derek Lam. I jest because it’s a common occurrence after shows, but she got my attention. From what  I can tell, she’s not a streetstyle muse, but I think it’s just a matter of time…

Future Trend? – I spotted Rachel Zoe after the DVF show and noticed something interesting in all my shots. Her top and bottom lipstick are different shades. See? The top is slightly darker. Clever.

Baby Blue – If you work in fashion, you’ve heard of model Hanneli Mustaparta and are probably already a fan of her blog. I bet you even know this coat! She’s also an incredible streetstyle photographer and, somehow, I ended up clustered with a bunch of the pros yesterday, waiting for the DKNY show to let out. It was pretty funny watching some of them pass time and a lot of us ended up snapping Hanneli. What are the odds of having a blue wall in our favor?

I was already obsessed with the Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti coat, but pairing the white Tibi leather jacket underneath, with those Ralph Lauren gloves really made me gasp. The necklace is Proenza Schouler. Thanks for the snaps, Hanneli! Keep up with her latest fashion adventures on twitter.

Scheming – She was one of my favorite finds at Lincoln Center yesterday. I cannot get enough of contrast color schemes this season and many more images to come. ‘Nuff said.

Note to Self - 3.1 Phillip Lim was smart to have two people wearing the brand head-to-toe yesterday at Lincoln Center. I was predictably smitten with his 31 Hour Bags and watched so many people take shots of the duo sporting these looks. I could’ve really used this for Fashion Week. @stylespotting

I spotted her running into Diane Von Furstenberg’s 2012 F/W show, one of DVF’s sexier collections [slideshow] in my opinion. I also thought this woman’s sherbet color scheme was inspired, especially by punctuating the contrasting colors with that electric clutch.

Girl Crush – I happened to be the first one to spot J. Crew’s Jenna Lyons after Prabal Gurung’s show yesterday. She came out nearly last, when the initial after show frenzy had died down. When everyone pounced, shouting directions, she laughed, “Where did you all come from?”

Her slender colorblocked look killed me and I’m all about the semi-tucked T and her irreverent twist with the dangling keys. I also spotted her at September 2011′s Fashion Week and this streetstyle muse always looks like she’s not trying too hard.
