Ladies Who Launch – I was StyleSpotting at a few recent events around NYC and singled out some favorite bags the attendees were toting, but the one above really stood out. I got the scoop from this blogging stylist on her limited edition Denim + Python Mini Monte Carlo Clutch. It’s Kelly Framel of The Glamourai and she’s been taunting people on her blog about her collaboration with NYC-based Texan Camille Zarsky and she told me she expects their collection’s images to go up online any day now. Until then, according to designer Zarsky’s facebook post, the bag is available now via info@camillezarsky.com. Congrats and I can’t wait to see the collection. The one above has me anticipating spring style (i.e. shopping). Otherwise, you can find my 4 other faves from other NYC events after the jump. More Bags >>>

Blonde + Beige - I met Marissa in the West Village with her friend Jade who you’ll be meeting in a separate post. As I was shooting a close-up of her handbag, I caught her making this pensive face (above) and just had to jump up and get the shot. She’s wearing a Club Monaco sweater, Scoop NYC scarf, Rag & Bone Keaton sunglasses + jeans, with a Proenza Schouler PS1 Pouch in smoke and Isabel Marant boots, out of frame.
Marissa finished at Stella Adler (acting school) and just filmed a short. She also claims, “I’m learning to read Tarot and painting my friends’ portraits (very badly).” I quizzed the British blonde about her fashion favorites, shared below.

Marissa’s Fashion Factoids:
- I am obsessed by Stevie Nicks, capes and beige sweaters.
- I like old clothes that have a story and have lived an interesting life.
- My shopping secret is my mother. She buys me better stuff without me even being there to try it on. She just bought me an Ohne Titel dress for my birthday (and it kinda has a cape attached!) I’m in love with it.

Fantastic Plastic – Can you believe this outfit? Spotting Loren’s Bao Bao Issey Miyake bag today just took my bag fetish to a higher plane (hence the second bag post). I first fell for the line walking by the Soho store, then when Preetma carried this orange tote at NYFW. Loren’s Planet bag (color 75, midnight blue) is incredible, but out of stock. Don’t fret, she says this model will be back at Pleats Please in September in black and brown. I was under the impression it was a heavy bag that would sound like dominos collapsing if you were to set it down, but it’s actually a lightweight vinyl. Now, can we please talk about Loren’s style contrast? More on this artist below.

Loren likes to mix designers and graphic prints and wrote, “My sunglasses are Alexander McQueen, shoes are Gareth Pugh for Melissa, and of course, everything else is Issey Miyake.” She also mentioned her entire outfit was a variety of plastics! Thanks for the scoop, Loren. I would never have thought to put those pieces together. (Love that hip haircut.)
Update: Fun news – the top shot made it into VOGUE Turkey!

I spotted him in one of my favorite hoods, NYC’s Meatpacking District, as I was heading to meet girlfriends at Spice Market. I’ll be threading more NYC stories and images here over the next week, where I’ve already spotted a handsome gent taking a smoke right after I shot this. Stay tuned…

Pattern Recognition – Great news, did you hear? Rebecca Minkoff was all over the LA blogs recently for her epic handbag sample sale at Los Feliz shop Confederacy. Turns out the New York based designer just opened a permanent shop-within-a-shop in the front space of the store owned by Ilaria Urbinati and Danny Masterson. I can’t tell you just how many of her bags I’ve snapped around Los Angeles, seen above, on Lindsey, and at this Lucky Shops LA event, but something tells me that number is about to multiply significantly.
