Double Dots – I’ve been spotting dots all over NYC and liked Lia’s stylish spin with the double dots at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. Her shirt is Comme des Garçons x H&M, shorts are Forever 21, the awesome white cuff is also H&M and the bag is from ad agency HUGE.
Hit List – Lia’s an advertising Art Director at R/GA and describes her style with, “I like mixing patterns on patterns, colors, and textures — but keeping everything balanced and simple.” Her hit list of favorites to shop include Oak, Bird, Jumelle, Opening Ceremony and Uniqlo. For great vintage finds, she likes to head upstate. Duly noted!

Mixed Take – I spotted the guy above in Soho and dug his conflicting combo, but I was on the phone and couldn’t pursue. Photog friends I was sitting with me tell me he works for a local retailer and hope to spot him again soon.

Brooklyn’s Finest – I spotted model Vanessa Breuer on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, watching band Sweet Street Symphony take to the streets. I’ve also shot Vanessa in the West Village and loved her breezy weekend vibe here. She’s wearing a shredded ‘Creature of the Night’ T-shirt, Rag & Bone Mila shorts and surprisingly, that’s a Sass & Bide bra underneath. She’s also wearing the sneaks from her West Village shot.
#Want: I give up on finding her bra online, but found a few fancy ones to wear under sideswiped shirts:
Trivia: Do you love Vanessa’s superhero stance? You can’t tell here, but the sidewalk is nuts and I even had to wait for a lull in foot traffic to get a clean shot. If you ever run into her, she’s got a great laugh (and a handsome man.)

I spotted Milan in Brooklyn on Williamsburg’s Bedford Avenue, sporting NYC’s certified summer look that’s trending here, with the sexy sideswiped T (detailed below), shredded shorts and boots. The trend is a DIY cut, but looks like hers was off the rack like this. She’s wearing a bikini top underneath (smart), but some women are sticking to ornate bras which you’ll see here tomorrow. She picked up the shirt at Urban Outfitters, with shorts from Australia’s One Teaspoon, a Collina Strada bag and Justin boots. Come back for Model Monday tomorrow and you’ll catch a familiar face sporting the same look on the same block, spotted just a few minutes earlier.

Sideswiped.

Something’s Happening Here – GRAYMARKET is a conceptual retail space opening in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and something I alluded to after spotting one of the founders, Wei Du.
StyleSpotting – The common theme at last night’s private launch party was body art and I wanted to share a few of the tattoos I spotted outside the Wythe Studios space. (At the top, I thought the way she exposed her ink a bit more by skipping the top button of her dress was inspired.) It wasn’t a media event, so let’s leave it to the fancy purveyors for future photos and the skinny on their concept, but I can tell you to expect some pretty luxe labels juxtaposed with their keen discoveries. You can start here to get in the loop on this appointment only space.

Dance x Dance – I spotted these two cuties on Bedford in Williamsburg and think they both have some kind of star quality. Wendress and Bibi met at their college a couple years ago when they were both auditioning for the dance club. Bibi says they clicked and now she’s even president of that dance club.
Wendress likes to dance and perform and when I asked about music faves, she wrote, “I listen to all kids of music whatever gets me up and dancing.” She likes to shop at thrift shops and Urban Outfitters.
Bibi is an actress and dancer/choreographer, but also makes and designs clothes, like the pocket T she’s wearing. She’s also a freelance personal shopper and hairdresser. She said, “I listen to everything. I like indie, hiphop rock… mellow music but I also like the crazy thing.” She also let me know, “I love to shop! My fav stores, Urban Outfitters, Topshop, Beacon’s Closet and Buffalo Exchange.”
Keep an eye out for these two and maybe we’ll see their names in lights some day.
