Alexa Chung Sitting Pretty for Elle UK's November 2010 Issue

Girl Crush – I’ll admit I was a bit thrown when a few friends asked me who the hell Alexa Chung even was after I posted this story about covering Teen Vogue’s Young Hollywood Red Carpet last month. Srsly? Ok, so here’s the abbreviated skinny: The stylish British expat found her way stateside to host MTV’s “It’s On with Alexa Chung” and the show was cancelled, yet she gained a cult following amongst the fashion set in return + a collection she just launched with Madewell. The refreshing thing is –  she’s a bit reluctant, self-effacing and, from our quick convo on the red carpet, certainly doesn’t seem to be buying into her own hype. She’s also been quoted as saying, “I’m quite proud that geeky, asexual dressing has become cool. It’s good to promote a different look. It’s cooler to get something for a fiver in a charity shop, than spend five grand in Versace.”

Check out Elle UK’s behind-the-scenes VIDEO of their November issue photo shoot [below] to get a hint of Alexa’s disarming charm and I think you’ll soon be another Alexa Chung Plus One.

Cover Story: Garance Dore Does Demi Moore for Elle UK

I can't wait for GARANCE DORE'S Demi Moore cover for ELLE UK!

Front Row Fashion – Garance Dore is a French fashion insider and her blog is something I look forward to reading daily and I’m not sure whether it’s her saturated photos or spunky illustrations I love the most. She started as an illustrator and was frustrated by her commissions which led to launching her blog as a creative outlet and portfolio of sorts. She eventually started taking some pretty amazing photos and is now well known in both fields. Front row at all the fashion shows, Garance recently added captivating videos. Sure, she does incredible compilations from all the shows, but it’s the little slices of life I love the most – which you could probably predict from my own stylespotting pov. Ironically, her boyfriend is fellow top blogger Scott Schuman, founder of The Sartorialist. Look for her ELLE UK issue on newsstands. I predict it’ll be a collector’s item.
