(Q & A) - I spotted actress Dawn Olivieri (Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Heroes) wearing Boho Chic during Abbot Kinney’s First Friday event, where a bevy of food trucks overtake the street. She was trying the event for the first time and was such a cool spirit that I wanted to know more about her and she was nice enough to share in below’s Q&A. She was actually on her way to Haiti for some volunteer work and shares more about her look and some tasty foods from that night below.
What’s the secret for pulling off the BoHo look?
Dawn: It’s all in the detail… earth tones, movement and rough edges. I don’t just limit it to the clothing either… for me, it’s how I live. Click for Dawn’s style story.

The best way to get into Justin Timberlake’s pants is by buying them! I recently spotted Heather wearing his (and partner Trace Ayala’s) denim line, William Rast while we were both in line for Vizzi’s food truck. The line is known for shapes and pockets that really compliment rear ends. Heather’s look like bootcut and their website has some good options in stock. You can also view Williams Rast’s Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection here or go to ShopBop for his Jerri Ultra Skinny Jeans. And by Jerri, I’m pretty sure he means me!

I will follow the Vizzi Truck anywhere (and I have) just to get my hands on their truffle popcorn (below)! It’s drizzled in a rich oil and sprinkled with sea salt and chives. I just tried their sliders and am now a fan of those, too. If you don’t live in LA, I wish I could ship some of their popcorn to you! You can follow @vizzitruck on twitter here and I’m here @StyleSpotting.

Thanks to Heather and also to William Rast for naming a pair of their jeans after me (just play along, people).

Something tells me these python boots could tell some damn good stories…. { Click the image above or SUPERSIZE for the boot shot }

We were ordering Vietnamese at this food truck and spotted these very-pretty-yet-not-ready-for-their-close-up-girls. I think it was their subtle affection that originally caught my eye and then their great accessories accenting the blacks. (I wonder if they share clothes simply because they can).

I didn’t think I’d make it, but ended up in Venice last night for Abbot Kinney’s First Friday event. It was nuts and already dark, so I didn’t take a lot of photos, but there was so much incredible style roaming the streets. I was dying over all the missed opportunities (like a handmade hipster chain + pony skin gun harness of sorts strapped around a striking gent, a sea of Marc by Marc Jacobs bags and stacks of stellar necklaces). Lines for bars were 30 deep, there were tons of cute kids roaming the streets and I almost always spot a LeSportsac. Overall, I’d say that trendless is always trending at First Fridays on Abbot Kinney.

944: The Nightlife Issue – I was wandering down Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice during their monthly First Friday event where I came across a lot of interesting characters with great style that I’m featuring this week. I spotted Jared flipping through his company’s 944 Magazine as they were ramping up for an event celebrating local tastemakers. He looks badass, right? I forgot to ask him how he gets his hair to do that. Jared, let’s make a video! Calllllll meeeee.

944 is a Fashion, Entertainment & Lifestyle magazine published in 10 metropolitan cities. Shhhh, I like lunching with the free copies at Fred Segal Melrose, like here and here.
