Estate Rings - I ran into my stylish friend Melissa at the LA Street Food Fest while she was dancing to a band. I’ve known her since college and she also happens to be a hot stylist (e.g. Flaming Lips, Barney’s New York, ipod commercials) and is showing me a recent estate sale purchase she scored at a gem show. {click pic for detail shot}
Birthday Things – All my food truck posts made me think of her fun birthday soiree in downtown LA. A few of us stepped out around midnight to order some taco truck snacks and met Michael who walked up to us dancing, gave Melissa a birthday spin and shared his favorite ice cream flavors with Jason. I happened to catch it all on video and posted a little gift to her – seen below. Who’s Bad?

Goro Jewelry & Accessories – I was stylespotting at Abbot Kinney Blvd’s First Friday event when Jarrett’s neckwear literally stopped me in my tracks. He shared Goro’s history with me, a Tokyo-based jewelry designer with a waiting list longer than the hordes of people lined up outside his store daily, trying to score his exclusive handmade pieces. How did Jarrett score not one, but two pieces? The Nike Design Director knows someone who knows someone, naturally. He says John Mayer has also been privy to Goro pieces, but that the designer (with Native American influences, it seems) is still pretty hush hush in the U.S. Jarrett, thank you for sharing and for reinforcing my tag line that style has a story.
