Bold Gold – I spotted Courtney and her statement Mawi London necklace outside American Rag on La Brea and it took me a minute to realize it was her. She works at Les Pommettes, one of my favorite stores on Robertson that happens to be launching their annual Jewelry & Accessories Trunk show, today through July. The event features hundreds of pieces from designers around the globe, so say hi to Courtney if you stop by. Her rings are Low Luv, Tom Tom and Dara Ettinger, the shirt is Girl by Band of Outsiders, the Levi’s shorts are from this flea market and the bag is Alexander Wang. She just picked up these Raybans, which I knew by peeking her blog shadesandbooties.com. Want to see Courtney’s full outfit? You can go vote on her look at RackedLA.

Color Crazy – A sneak peek at some colorful trunk show earrings, with a stack of Deux Lux handbags behind them. #Lust

So long, studs – So many of the cool girls carrying Alexander Wang and she’s got the Diego Bucket. Sigh…

Tangerine & Talon – I spotted Amelia on Sunset Blvd as she suddenly popped out the front door of her Sunset Plaza shop, into the sun. I gasped for three very obvious reasons: (1) stunning (2) her amazing tangerine linen pants and (3) the gigantic talon suspended from her neck. I was so distracted that I forgot to ask Amelia for her outfit details and will reach out for the skinny. Until then, I want those pants and that cozy sweater. See more of Amelia and her boyish oxfords after the jump.

Jewelry Designer Kathryn Bentley featured at April’s Lucky Shops LA event
Designing Women – Jewelry Designer Kathryn Bentley and leather goods designer Clare Vivier opened their Silverlake Shop today. VIVIER AND BENTLEY will house the duo’s colorful collections, including Kathryn’s DREAM COLLECTIVE costume pieces (featured in this post) as well as her fine jewelry. I have a thing for jewelry and Kathryn’s textured, brass infused collection stopped me in my tracks during this Lucky Shops LA event. She has a rare instinct for textured pieces, which she attributes to both an early appreciation for architecture and being inspired by nature. When I met her, she was excited about her store opening just a few weeks later and I’m even more excited to check it out this week. Get a closer peek at the Dream Collective pieces after the jump and get ready to fall for her stacked bracelets.

Biting the Bullet – I met Taylor at this Lucky Shops LA event I wrote about for Mondette and originally fell for her haircut, before being drawn to her jewelry. She likes to scavenge for vintage pieces and it looks like she has it down to a science. More on her favorite places for vintage jewelry after the jump, but take a close look at her skull necklace, molded from bullet casings. Seriously, just click. Where does she shop?

Twice as Nice – I’ve always loved the gold layered look and think she’s got it down. I also dig her leopard ring and have a fun streetstyle find coming up later this week. Until then, I included a stash of some polyvore faves for getting cuffed, from vintage Chanel style to modern Max & Chloe to low-cost Juicy, all detailed after the jump.

Barneys New York Co-Op: Funny Alexander Wang Display {enlarge}
Turn it ON and ON and ON - So much great texture at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills today. Alexander Wang’s display made me laugh out loud and his ocean blue leather bags were on fire. His Barney’s exclusive Rocco mini duffle bag was on hold for a customer, his Diego bucket bag was fondled twice while I was trying some jewelry, and then I gasped over this Darcy Hobo and this Brenda washed shoulder bag. I’m also gaga for L’Agence lately, especially this very femme blouse. In the store, they had intentionally dressed a mannequin wearing the shirt backward – and it worked! (That would be akin to buying two shirts in one, right? Um, right)?
Nikki B's simple friendship bracelets are on the right. {enlarge}
I am also nutty for these affordable Nikki B friendship bracelets, composed of either tiny glass beads or crimp beads sliding on silk threads. I picked up the olive color a couple weeks ago that I’ve been wearing non-stop and think they would make perfect gifts. Did you know Barneys has a blog? It’s true and here, Carrie Chapman, Senior Buyer for CO-OP Accessories, says Nikki B lives in a “tree house” in Chile. (Don’t worry, it’s a nice “tree house” that’s been featured in Dwell magazine). Fortunately, there will always be way too much great Barneys loot to cover for one story, so please look for future Best of Barneys posts, stylespotting my favorite designers, discoveries and accessories. Ok, you can CLICK HERE if you want to leave with me.

Goro Jewelry & Accessories – I was stylespotting at Abbot Kinney Blvd’s First Friday event when Jarrett’s neckwear literally stopped me in my tracks. He shared Goro’s history with me, a Tokyo-based jewelry designer with a waiting list longer than the hordes of people lined up outside his store daily, trying to score his exclusive handmade pieces. How did Jarrett score not one, but two pieces? The Nike Design Director knows someone who knows someone, naturally. He says John Mayer has also been privy to Goro pieces, but that the designer (with Native American influences, it seems) is still pretty hush hush in the U.S. Jarrett, thank you for sharing and for reinforcing my tag line that style has a story.

For the record, I also dig how he wears it. While I shot Jarrett’s look, his wife shot my shoes which bemused me (can I see?). You can follow Jarrett on his trend scouting travels at JarrettsBlog.com. Fun to talk to you two in Venice and domo arigato for the impromptu sidewalk photo op!
