Slideshow: Model Lina Zhang’s Sidewalk Catwalk

by Jerri Howell on Wednesday, January 16, 2013

in Models,New York,Slideshow

Photo Op – This is after Ralph Lauren’s fashion show. It’s raining and almost everyone has come and gone and Chinese model Lina Zhang, who walked the show, is one of the last people to leave. Photogs are quietly shooting her. When she suddenly realizes all eyes are on her, watch her turn Hudson Street into a sidewalk catwalk, below:

Laure-Anne’s Bold Bangs

by Jerri Howell on Monday, December 17, 2012

in Instagram,Models,New York,StreetStyle,Williamsburg

Pen Pal – You might remember model Laure-Anne Baillon from this Brooklyn post and I’m currently obsessed with [maybe] getting bold bangs and thought of this photo. She was adorable, even as she jotted her contact info. (I’m also obsessed with these haircuts and not sure what to do next, but want something drastic).

Picture This – I have a short window for some NYC bookings for the month of December. For personal portraits, editorials, model test shots or style video collaborations, you can contact me here.

Model Romee Strijd on instagram

by Jerri Howell on Monday, December 10, 2012

in Models,New York,NYFW,StreetStyle

I spotted model Romee Strijd after walking Prabal Gurung’s show in NYC and thought she was just breathtaking. I’ve also shot her in Nolita with her fellow model Laura Kampman here and didn’t even recall taking the above shot until I found it while cleaning up files. I love that I can funnel a lot of my extras onto instagram.

Ok, I’m back to posting more extras from fashion shows next week, but can’t wait for you to meet some stylish locals I’ve spotted, too.

Model Jessica Hart on instagram

Beach Blonde – I spotted model Jessica Hart and can finally publish it thanks to instagram’s forgiving filters. (But seriously, with a billion dollars, could they not beef up their choices?) My point is, I’m finally on iphone and instagram and am surprisingly not as addicted as I’d predicted (yet). The best thing is – I now have a home for a slew of images that just didn’t fit the blog, twitter or facebook. You can catch bonus shots, bloopers and, er, sometimes spy on me as I snap around town. You can catch more model moments all day via instagram.

Model Frida Aasen, About Face

by Jerri Howell on Monday, November 19, 2012

in Models,New York,StreetStyle,Williamsburg

Teen Queen - I spotted Norwegian model Frida Aasen in Brooklyn last June and thought I had spotted a human Barbie. I’ve noticed that she’s blowing up lately and thought you’d like to have a peek at this model’s weekend look. She’s an avid equestrian who says she was discovered in her hometown mall. Considering she’s already graced the cover of Dazed & Confused, gotten some major buzz after walking New York Fashion Week and is the face of Nasty Gal’s Holiday 2012 Collection, I predict an interesting year ahead for this distinctive face. Models Before Chris Benz

by Jerri Howell on Monday, November 19, 2012

in Models,New York,NYFW,StreetStyle

The Waiting – I spotted these models right before Chris Benz’s presentation at Lincoln Center. They’re waiting for their hair to set and it’s going to look crazy crimped. Want to see? Here’s the model with long hair and short hair. (If you watch the whole slideshow, you might recognize Olga Boiko, who I’ve spotted in NYC here). Benz’s collection was a cache of florals and I’m curious if you’re following this news. Gulp.

Coming Next: Everyone’s favorite new ‘it model.’

Bradley Soileau Loves Porcelain Black

by Jerri Howell on Monday, November 12, 2012

in Models,New York,NYFW,StreetStyle

Husband & Wife – I spotted model Bradley Soileau outside Milk Studios after he had just walked Alexandre Plokhov’s show. Do you recognize him from Lana Del Rey’s “Born to Die” video? I also shot this incredible looking woman below, who turned out to be Bradley’s wife and singer Porcelain Black. I dare you to tell me her song “Naughty Naughty” (streaming here) isn’t catchy.

His forehead tattoo says, “War inside my head” (a Suicidal Tendencies song). Her hand tattoo is from the name of her late father’s former hair salon, who she credits for encouraging her individuality. It’s cute how you can tell how much Bradley loves her on twitter (which is how I put the pieces together for this story). He/She/Me.

Model Moment: Erik Andersson Lights Up

by Jerri Howell on Saturday, November 10, 2012

in Models,New York,NYFW,StreetStyle

Post Show – I spotted model Erik Andersson taking a smoke break outside Milk Studios. He had just washed this out of his hair after Alexandre Plokhov’s show. Erik’s on the cover of Autumn’s 10 Men Magazine and his hair has been the catalyst for being compared to androgynous model Andrej Pejic (who I’ve spotted in Soho). Do you think Erik is a gender bender?

Remember when I spotted these Marc Jacobs models smoking before a show last season? It’s still one of my favorite posts for some reason. I’m realizing how many model shots I’m sitting on, so I’ll run a few more Model Moments this week…
